Radio 3FM Red Cross Charity Serious Request 2008 We supported the charity action of the Dutch Radio 3FM's "Serious Request 2008" which was held in Breda in The Netherlands from 19th till the 24th of December.Three DJ's of this famous radio station are locked up in a "glass house" for 6 days without food to raise funds for the Red Cross organisation. SFB and RME are proud that we provided the MADI glassfiber interconnection and RME interfaces from the "glass house" mobile DJ studio to the nearby City Hall for free .This year 3FM and the Red Cross are asking for your attention for the aids orphan problem. This is the link to the serious request website (sorry only in Dutch...)We would like to take this oppertunity to ask you to donate some money to your local Red Cross organisation if you are able too. | |

The Glass House..It was busy outside the Glass House in Breda. Great to see all those people supporting the DJ's for the good cause. |
The DJs and their home for 6 daysTwo of the three DJ's Giel Beelen and Coen Swijnenberg who are locked up for 6 days without food. Paul Rabbering is the 3th DJ but not on this picture. |
Temporary production studioThe wedding hall in the Breda's City hall has been converted into a radio studio. Next to the RME glassfiber MADI connection there are some old fashioned thick cable socapex connections to the TV OB vans. |
Thumbs up...The fiber link consisting of an ADI 648 and 3 times an ADI8 series of converters giving a total of 24 analog channels in both directions are shown here. The fiber core drum is from ALVA a RME partner. The same set of gear is located at the other end of the fiber link in the "glass house". ... and it seems that the operating technician is having fun with the gear |
The ALVA Madi drum as used at the eventWhen building up the MADI link we had to install the MADI cable between the City hall and the Glass house and at first it was a bit frightning to see that trucks and even technicians with small wheeled flightcases were driving over our "precious" MADI cable, but the cable did not suffer any harm and is really extremely flexible, crush-, and impact resistant and does really meets the MIL standards that you want and need for such an event.
